White Horehound flowers
Marrubium vulgare plants found in Sussex
White Horehound is a rare plant but found in Crowlink Sussex where it was pointed out to me.
The plants we saw were about 50cm high and upright with 1cm long white tubular flowers held in whorls. They were located within a few hundred metres of the sea in short grass on the edge of a field. We saw them in July.
The stems were white and downy. The leaves were about 3cm long, oval and wrinkled, with the new growth also downy.
